Building Standby Power System (BSPS)

BSPS

Over the past several years, there has been much written about the deregulation of the utility industry and how that deregulation has negatively affected the reliability of both local and national power grids. When you combine this local experience with the last east coast outage, which, in some cases had customers in the dark for up to three days, you understand why CityView Properties turned their attention to the options available to help assure standby power supply for their tenants of Larkin at Exchange.

The Building Standby Power System, (BSPS) has been installed in the former steam power plant building to the east of the main complex and consists of three diesel engine driven 1,250 Kilowatt generators capable of powering the complex for a relatively indefinite time period and allow us to operate the building with minimal, if any disruption to the normal operation. The generators supply high voltage power to the buildings distribution in much the same way that we buy power, under normal circumstances, from the power company. It is very rare that a building could offer such an extensive backup power supply.

This BSPS is essentially offering assurance against a power problem that cannot be controled beyond LCos property line. The system will not only allow you to keep all of your personnel on site but will also maintain your computer network, your phone systems and all of the building ancillary systems that service your individual space. Larkin at Exchange will be 100% fully operational.
